Problem with getting it to work still exists since there is no software to select router info with under Windows It just doesn't install when Realtek Setup. So is there a third party tool? How do I select the router and enter password?

I believe that is incorrect and if someone says it is, I sure would like to see screen shots. It is only available as a web based setup. I rebooted into XP, downloaded and installed it under XP and then rebooted back to Win and it worked there. Interesting info is available. The thing is, USB wireless adapter is available under Device Manger and there is nothing wrong under Device Manager, but it does not show up under network and I don't know how to enable it to set it up with the router.

Thanks to the good folks at Monoprice, I just got this resolved. They found a driver package not available when I did an extensive search. I would attach the whole thing but it's like 20MB. L So if anyone hits this thread doing a search, you need that, however, that only installs working software allowing you to type in your router password to connect. I had to manually install this driver which works with that software:.

So if anyone hits this thread doing a search I have windows on a old pentium 3, I have reinstalled windows and It doesnt work, whe Web didn't help me Last edited: Nov 4, Which Windows version are you running - , or ? Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately my question has not been resolved and the problem is exactly the same as in the original post.

Both mouse and keyboard works but cannot connect to the PC. Nothing changed. Well it turns out my dongle can be recognized if I bend it really hard while in the USB port and it does send notification when that happens. Not sure if I somehow damaged it mechanically or it is this way because of two years in the closet. Ann, the keyboard behaves the same for me, green light for some time after putting in the batteries.

Too bad the dongle is not replaceable, I'll probably try changing and re-soldering the USB plug and then I'll probably end up ditching on microsoft hardware for some time I have the same question 9. I downloaded the software from Netgear the oldest versions I could find. When I install, it gives me a message that the software installed correctly, but when I try to run the Netgear Genie I get an error message: "A I have uninstalled the Genie software and tried the executable that is supposed to install the drivers only.

Again, I get a message saying it has successfully installed. Yet the device STILL shows as not properly configured and when I manually try to load the drivers from that directory there are none there. Oh, and the software and drivers are being installed from a USB, since I have to download to my workstation, and then carry it out to the Mfg area to manually install.

I really don't have much experience with Win 2k, so lets just call it none. Hardware is also not my strong suit. Using Ubiquiti Hardware. I'm curious why you'd try to use an EdC is correct, a wireless bridge is likely the solution here, or just find a dongle that works with Windows It will be used for remote support to connect and then the connection will be removed.

We deliberately keep these systems off the network and do not want them connected to the internet. In the 3 years that I've been here, this is the only time we've needed to connect this machine to the internet. The reason that I am attempting to use this device because it is what I have. Honestly, Plan B may be going out tomorrow to purchase the longest Ethernet cable that I can find to reach the closest network jack.

The wireless bridge solution can be temporary, too. EdC and dpaul, now that I have a better understanding, I thank you and I am pursuing this route.
