It sounds like your router also has a built in switch. Also, can you post a diagram? If that's the case then there's no way to make a router route traffic from one network to another network if both networks use the same network address space.

If your router has multiple ROUTED interfaces and you're trying to use it to connect computers that are in the same network address space it will not work. In that case you need a switch.
